About us
André Ahrenkiel
manager
Who are you?
I am an old man trapped in a young body. I live with my spouse and our son, from June 2023, in Sæby. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and especially going sailing in our sailboat (a Maxi 1000 if you are curious).
What do you do at Crossbord?
I am managing our consultancy services. I handle direct communication with regards to consultancy with our clients and am managing the rest of the consulting team.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
I got Magnus’ contact details from one of my connections who had a spouse who worked at Crossbord (United Tax Network at that time). She was pregnant so I took a chance and asked Magnus for a cup of coffee, and after an 1,5 hour meeting Magnus suggested that I should come work here. That was in 2019 and I have been here since.
What do you love most about your job?
First and foremost; the best thing about the personal tax area, compared to corporate tax, is that we get to make a difference for real human beings. Besides that the complexity of personal tax and social security in international environments gives a lot of exiting challenges.
When do you feel successful at work?
When we solve complex problems to the satisfaction for both individuals, authorities and employers.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
As mentioned I am an old man trapped in a young man’s body. I love listening to classical music (especially Beethoven), and watching old Danish movies. My colleagues will also tell you that I am very bad with references from all sort of modern movies.
AGNE VAGTBORG
Chief operating officer
Who are you?
I’m Agne Vagtborg, COO at Crossbord. I originally come from Lithuania, which was still part of the USSR when I was born. Some of my colleagues jokingly claim that explains my discipline and efficiency, and occasionally accuse me of having KGB training. I can neither confirm nor deny… but it’s definitely not true.
Besides my background in finance and international business I’m deeply fascinated by human behaviour and how our brains work, especially when it comes to teamwork, motivation, and performance.
What do you do at Crossbord?
Basically, my role is to make things work. In practice that means connecting strategy, people, and execution so our ideas turn into results.
At Crossbord, Magnus generates many of the ideas and strategic directions, and Jacob K. and I work closely together to bring those ideas to life and make sure they translate into real progress for the company and our clients.
I believe strong results come from clear expectations, honest conversations, and teams that take pride in doing things properly. Much of my work is about creating the structure and culture that allow exactly that to happen.
My colleagues sometimes say I’m the glue that keeps things together, making sure people collaborate well and that nothing stands in the way of helping our team grow and deliver the best possible results for our clients.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
Originally, I came to Crossbord to help with project management for about three to six months.
That was in 2017…
Apparently, they decided it would be risky to let me leave.
What do you love most about your job?
Building an environment, where talented people pull in the same direction and make each other better, is incredibly rewarding.
And there is something very satisfying about seeing a good idea turn into something that actually works in the real world.
When do you feel successful at work?
When the team is thriving and everyone is playing the same game, that’s when strong results happen.
Tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself
I’m a serious food enthusiast. I love exploring new cuisines, enjoying great meals, and learning more about wine, which is why I’m part of a women’s wine club.
Sport is also a big part of my life. I grew up playing basketball in Lithuania, and today our whole family practices karate together.
And despite rumours in the office, I have demonstrated remarkable self-restraint, even in situations involving mysteriously disappearing caviar.
Personal philosophy: Strong teams turn good ideas into great results.

Jacob Krushave
Associate Partner
Who are you?
I am basically a nostalgic who finds joy in the simple things. That’s why it’s a big part of me to laugh and be happy, and I have a home full of collectibles that remind me of the joys of childhood. For example, Disney and LEGO are a hit!
What do you do at Crossbord?
I am employed as Director and lead our Delivery Team. I have the overall responsibility of ensuring that our customers receive the high standard of service, they expect.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
I started as a Tax Consultant (part-time) while I was still a student. After finishing my studies, I continued at United Tax Network and have been along on the entire journey of becoming Crossbord.
What do you love most about your job?
Going to work every day is super fun. We laugh out loud daily! Crossbord is characterised by the fact that we succeed in combining complicated tax problems with payroll processing. I am sure that this is the right model for solving projects where employees have tax liability in several countries as part of their work. It makes every single day unique, exciting, and interesting!
When do you feel successful at work?
I often have successful experiences at work. It is a success when my colleagues have good experiences with our clients, so that our clients succeed with their projects.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
Beauty and the Beast formed the basis of my marriage. We got engaged in ‘Belle’s Castle’ (DisneyWorld, USA) and our first dance was to ‘Beauty and the Beast’.
Jacob Høfler
Assistant Manager
Who are you?
My free time is spent renovating the house, with my 5 children, and my wonderful wife Lina. And then then some is spent on my hobby business byhøfler, where I keep my accounting skills up to date.
What do you do at Crossbord?
I am a Senior Consultant / Ass. Sales Manager. But titles are titles. I have a hand in everything from payroll processing to light consulting and sales, but it is also me who makes sure that stuff in the office is hung up and that it is hung up straight and level.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
Suddenly one day I got a message from Magnus on LinkedIn, and in less than 2 weeks I was employed in a temporary position for 3 months. Quickly, on the first day, it developed into me being offered 6 months and when they where up, I got a permanent position as a payroll consultant. After a bit more than a year I changed to my current role.
What do you love most about your job?
First of all, that no day is ever the same. And then being part of a team that takes responsibility for both customers and colleagues. If Magnus had not written, I would never have known that the company existed, but now I could not imagine working anywhere else. At Crossbord, I am challenged every day both with exciting tasks, but also intellectually as I develop professionally and learn new things every single day.
When do you feel successful at work?
I find that I am successful when I complete my share of the tasks, and have created space to be able to take on new tasks by optimising and planning my time.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
If you count individual courses, I am the office’s most well-educated, and I always win on having the most children among colleagues.
Jan Cao
Marketing Consultant
Who are you?
I am a low-key man with a wife and two children, living a very simple life. I enjoy watching football and professional wrestling.
What do you do at Crossbord?
I handle everything related to marketing, including artificial intelligence (AI), website management, content creation, social media (SoMe), search engine optimisation (SEO), and more. You name it, I do it.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
One of my LinkedIn connections was tagged in a photo with Crossbord CEO Magnus Vagtborg. I became curious about what Crossbord does and noticed areas where I could add value to the company. So, I sent an unsolicited application and got hired.
What do you love most about your job?
I laugh every day at the office. The banter with my colleagues reflects the flat structure at Crossbord. I also appreciate how management trusts my ability to deliver the required results
When do you feel successful at work?
I feel successful when I improve anything that helps Crossbord grow, whether it is related to marketing or something else that my colleagues in the Delivery Team need.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
I forgot the ring for my proposal, wedding, and honeymoon. Yet somehow, I am still happily married. At least, I think so.
Linda Mortensen
IT Specialist
l. fuchs@crossbord.dk
Who are you?
I am an introvert, so I love doing something for myself, for example fishing, gardening and crocheting. I also really enjoy computer games, movies, board games and painting miniatures.
What do you do at Crossbord?
I am responsible for IT processes and digital optimisations of our company, as well as administrating our backend.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
I started as a student employee in Feb 2020, and was employed full-time as an IT Specialist in August 2021.
What do you love most about your job?
I really enjoy the variety in my job. I get to work with a lot of different systems and solutions, and I find it a nice challenge to find proper ways of implementing the right systems for the right job and get them to communicate well together. It is like a big puzzle, and I love puzzles!
I love the flexibility I have, the type of work I do and the colleagues I work with. Nothing gives me more joy than hearing the happy responses from my colleagues as they get their hands on a new solution we deployed, and seeing them figure out first hand how the new system/functionality can help make their work-lives better.
When do you feel successful at work?
When I feel I have made a difference, and knowing that a solution I (helped) make, has made my colleagues have an easier/ better day..
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
I like listening to heavy-, speed- and trash metal, and I rode a motorcycle when I was younger, until I totalled it.
Line Jørgensen
IT & Marketing Consultant
Who are you?
I live in Aalborg with my boyfriend and our daughter. I used to have hobbies and enjoy books, tv-shows, and movies, but since our daughter is quite young, all my free time is directed towards her.
What do you do at Crossbord?
I sit between two worlds — IT and Marketing. On the IT side, I work with technical development and support of our business processes; on the marketing side, I have a hand in pretty much everything. In practice, I combine the two disciplines to support our team with process mining, automations, MarComm, and MarTech.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
When I moved back to Denmark, I decided to pursue a career in IT and enrolled in an AP in Computer Science. I joined Crossbord as a student helper in IT, and when I graduated I was taken on full time. Since I also have a background in marketing and communication, Magnus thought it made sense to put those skills to good use as well.
What do you love most about your job?
The team. My work is very fulfilling, but more than anything I love being around my colleagues — especially when Rain, our office dog, pays us a visit. I love how much we laugh each day, and how jokes fly around the office. The management team is focused on team dynamics and everyone’s well-being, the company vision is pretty exciting, and I appreciate how our core services are offered to large international companies while the real end user is their employees.
When do you feel successful at work?
It really gets my brain going when I find a good solution or find a way to optimise something. I also get a lot out of the moments I share with my colleaguest. And because people here are great at giving constructive feedback, almost every work conversation ends with some kind of improvement.
A fun or surprising fact about you?
I used to think I was an extrovert — turns out I just have ADHD and tend to think everything is a great idea at first. That enthusiasm is usually short-lived.
Magnus Vagtborg
Chief executive officer
Who are you?
My name is Magnus Vagtborg, and I am the CEO and owner of Crossbord.
What do you do at Crossbord?
As CEO my responsibilities include ensuring that we have a strategy and that we are on the right path of said strategy.

This is a rather long story, but in short, I was originally employed as a student back in 2008 and during the transition in 2014 I was offered to acquire the company and then we changed name to Crossbord.
What do you love most about your job?
I get to spend time with highly interesting and skilled people both within and outside of Crossbord.
When do you feel successful at work?
When the team succeeds and in particular, when I can recognize some of my seeds in the makings.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
I am a rather proficient guitar player with +100 live shows as one fourth of a Metallica cover band in the bag \m/
Mathias Kallehauge
Consultant
Who are you?
I live with my lovely girlfriend in our new apartment in down town Aalborg. I spend a lot of time getting the apartment cosy, and besides juggling numbers at work, I throw around kettlebells at crossfit. I probably talk more about Crossfit than I spend time doing it, but that’s the rule, right?
What do you do at Crossbord?
I do it all. I am so much invested in the company, that once I accidentally answered the phone by saying “This is Mr. Crossbord”.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
I started as a student worker, when I was studying at Aalborg University. You don’t throw gold at the street, so of course they kept me on after I graduated.
What do you love most about your job?
My colleauges, especially the ones in marketing. Besides that we eat a more than healthy amount of cake, and nobody hates that. It’s also nice helping our clients.
When do you feel successful at work?
When I don’t get teased by my colleagues or get a cake debt for saying something stupid.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
I have a tatoo of a heart with the word “Mum” inside.

We have freedom under responsibility, and employees are looked after when they need a little extra care/support. I have a great influence on and control over my daily life, and it is also important to Crossbord that my family is well.

Sofie H. Ottesen
Tax Trainee
Who are you?

I came across a job posting by chance, where Crossbord was looking for a student assistant. I quickly noticed that all the job requirements matched me and the way I like to work. Therefore, I did not hesitate to apply for the job, because I was certain about a clear match between Crossbord and me.
What do you love most about your job?

I feel successful when I can execute tasks precisely, in a structured and efficient way on my own. Especially when I have a clear overview and a full checklist that has been completed, I know that I have demonstrated my full potential, and that I have made the greatest contribution to achieve the team’s shared goals.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
I have a strange, but very good, photographic memory. I do absolutely nothing to maintain or train it, but I can, for example, remember the license plates of my family members’ and friends’ cars, or what was written in a specific document that I read five years ago.
rain vagtborg
Office Therapist & Very Good Boy
Who are you?
My name is Rain and I used to be a street dog, but now I am a family dog enjoying life with the Vagtborgs.
What do you do at Crossbord?
Oh what don’t I do? First of all I make sure that the herd is more or less gathered. The humans have this annoying tendency to sometimes go into different rooms. Sometimes I get separated from them because they, accidentally of course, close the door. The doors are made of glass, though, so I will lay just outside until they realise their error and let me in.
How did you find your way to Crossbord?
I usually follow Agne or Magnus there…
What do you love most about your job?
There are lots of cuddles and sometimes snacks. I like that we are all together.
When do you feel successful at work?
When I get hugs. Or snacks.
Please tell us a fun or surprising fact about yourself?
I once bypassed the kitchen security and managed to eat half a kilo of meatballs (frikadeller) in one go.
